2025 Pediatric Specialty Day Co-Chair

ASHT is seeking two qualified co-chairs to share responsibility for the development and management of the Pediatric Specialty Day education program during our 2025 Annual Meeting. The Annual Meeting will take place October 23-26, 2025 at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, UT. The co-chairs will work closely with the Annual Meeting Committee and board liaison to organize, select, and manage the program for the specialty day portion, which will take place October 23 and be scheduled as a full day before the main meeting begins that evening.

Responsibilities
In cooperation with the ASHT Annual Meeting Committee, the board liaison, and Headquarters staff team:

  • Determine format and content of the Pediatric Specialty Day program
  • Identify and invite primary speakers
  • Coordinate an open call for sessions and review process
  • Maintain frequent and thorough communication with presenters throughout all planning and review phases and facilitate communication among presenters
  • Incorporate current issues and evidence-based practice when developing content and topic areas
  • Foster collaboration between pediatric topic areas
  • Maintain frequent and thorough communication with the Annual Meeting Committee Chair, Vice Chair, board liaison, and Headquarters staff team
  • Serve as an ad-hoc member of the Annual Meeting Committee
  • Attend the ASHT 2025 Annual Meeting in Salt Lake City, UT
  • Serve as the public face of the Pediatric Specialty Day program

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be an Active (CHT) member in good standing
  • Have experience serving on an ASHT Annual Meeting Committee or in a similar role with another society/organization
  • Be willing to commit substantial time (2024-2025)
  • Possess established connections in the pediatric and hand and upper extremity therapy community

Additional Skills/Traits to Be Favorably Considered

  • Have experience organizing, presenting and managing professional and scientific programs
  • Have experience as an ASHT volunteer leader or in a similar role with another society/organization
  • Possess strong administrative, time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrate a creative approach to considering new continuing education formats and methodologies
  • Possess strong problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Have experience as an attendee at an ASHT Annual Meeting

Nominations and self-nominations are welcome. Before nominating someone, please confirm they would be willing. ASHT members who wish to be considered should submit a current curriculum vitae and letter of interest through the portal. Letters of recommendation are also encouraged and can be uploaded as part of the application process or emailed to 
asht@asht.org.

The deadline to apply is June 2, 2024. The ASHT Board of Directors will review applications during its July meeting and candidates will be notified thereafter.
